3) Ishmael Numinous Tyler Smith

Numinous, relating to a numen; supernatural, is filled with or characterized by a sense of a supernatural presence, which Ishmael encounters not once in his life but twice, once as a young schild and when in bed with Queequeg. Ishmael remembers once when he was asleep with his mother, he dosed into a deep deep sleep and when he awoke, he felt a presence of something, or a numinous on his hand. This supernatural presenced sent him into a pretrified state, in which he was unable to move in fear that the "spirit" might hurt him. This memory comes back to Ishmael when he wakes up to see that Queequeg had his arm tightly around him. The numinous experience he once had, was remembered by a similar touch, which was not numinous, for queequeg is not supernatural being.
