Great Chain of Being, a comment

I see that many of you are working on the chain of being and the Pequod as a microcosm of the world. Consider what we said earlier about order and chaos. What happens when the primate exceeds his function, e.g., when the king becomes a tyrant or when the king is removed from his role? Think of the king-Ahab and the way he rules his "kingdom." The following link will take you to a website that says a bit about "divine kingship." Think of this as an analogy not as a literal statement about Ahab or about what Ahab is becoming or might become. Does it have any predictive value?
