Biblical names- Alissa Davis

What do the biblical names of the ships mean?
Rachel gave birth to eight children, only the last one surviving. This son is captured and sold into slavery, and everyone assumed he was dead. This parallels to when the Captain of the Rachel came to ask Ahab's help to find his son who is lost at sea.
Jeroboam was the king who led Israel into sin by worshipping idols, and lead Israel to its ultimate fall by not listening to warnings of prophets. Likewise, the crew of the Jeroboam do not obey their captain, only the man who proclaimed himself as the prophet Gabriel. Gabriel warns Ahab to not go after Moby Dick. And, like Jeroboam, Ahab is the reason for the the downfall of the ship.
