Chapter 93- The Castaway. Pip and the Sea.

Chapter 93 describes the first time Pip goes out on the harpooning boat. He does an exceptional job the first time so of course when it comes time to go out on another, he is allowed to go again. The only problem is that during the second time out, he gets scared and jumps out of the boat. This results in the harpooners having to free the whale in order to rescue him. After this episode, he is informed that if he goes out again that they won't save him. Even though he knows this, he decides to give it another try. This still results in him jumping out which causes everyone to think he has gone crazy, except for Ishmael.
The sea is one big mystery. It is the sea of the unknown and everything is drawn to it. The sea has the power of changing people and is a place of isolation. Some many things can occur because of it's vastness and nobody really understands the whole concept of the sea. This is what latches onto to Pip and he experiences a life-changing event.
