Ch 3 Analysis

Ch 3 begins when Ishmael enters the Spouter-Inn and seeing the oil painting of a whale attacking a ship. Then it goes into Ishmael wanting to rent a room, but then he finds out that he has to share a bed with a harpooner. The landlord tells him the story of the harpooner and him having heads and being a cannibal. Ishmael then decides to sleep on thet bench, but its too cold, tight, and uncomfortable. So he decides to share the bed because the landlord tells him that the harpooner won't be there for the night. As Ishmael is trying to fall asleep, the harpooner, Queequeg walks in and Ishmael doesn't say anything to him, he just watches him. Queequeg pulls out heads from his bag and Ishmael freaks out calls for the landlord and so then Queequeg starts to freak out. The landlord comes in and calms down Queequeg and Ishamael decides to sleep in the same bed as Queequeg. The landlord says that Queequeg wouldn't dare harm a head on Ishmael, so Ishmael and Queequeg fall asleep and Ishmael has the best sleep that he has ever gotten.
