Hannah Robinson and Alyssa Berger Queequeg's Coffin

Towards the end of Moby Dick Queequeg requests for a floatin coffin to be made for him; so after he dies he can be burried like the warriors of his home country. Ishmael seems to have a hard time coping with the idea that his best friend with a relationship like a marriage, will be passing on soon. At the end of Moby Dick this coffin ends up representing Queequeg. In the last effort attempt to capture and kill Moby Dick all the crew is killed except for Ishmael. The one thing that ends up saving Ishmael is Queequeg's floating coffin. This coffin keeps Ishmael afloat for three days until another whaling ship comes upon him. While the ending to the novel is devestating in a way, this coffin brightens the ending because it shows that Queequeg will always be there for Ishmael.
