Hannah Robinson Kyle Smith and Tyler Smith Odes to a Grecian Urn

ODE TO A GRECIAN URN

The line that most relates to the quote on pg 7 of a Light in August is
THOU still unravish’d bride of quietness,
Thou foster-child of silence and slow time,
Sylvan historian, who canst thus express
A flowery tale more sweetly than our rhyme:

The references to spring encompass the idea of Lena bearing a child in the near future. Just as in Spring everything blossoms; Lena is blossoming with a child. Her trip however to find her lover is wearied and monotonous; while there are changes occuring in her trip they are the same changes over and over again. Every day the sun rises and sets; darkness overcomes her. The section of the poem which talks about slow time describes the feeling of Lena that time just keeps moving forever.
