Queequeg's Coffin- Alissa Davis

When Ishmael and Queequeg first meet at the spouter's inn, owned by Peter Coffin, Ishmael is in need of companionship. Through Peter Coffin, Ishmael met Queequeg. Even though their first encounter was one of surprise and Ishmael was afraid of the pagan worshipper, they form a lasting bond which lasts until the very end. On board the ship, Ishmael needs Queequeg in a way nobody else could understand, and when Queequeg dies, it was hard for Ishmael to accept. When Ishmael becomes the only survivor when the ship sinks, he finds Queequeg's coffin to float on, saving him once again from the loneliness in his life.
